Flood Remediation and Renovation at Anderson High School: Austin, TX

Bright classroom featuring colorful world map wall mural and student workstations
When flooding struck Anderson High School in late December, mold was discovered behind the millwork and walls shortly after. The Smith Holt team was brought in to design, document, and manage construction through a compressed timeline, with the goal of returning students to a safe environment by the following August. The solution centered on a purpose-built millwork system with integrated back ventilation, addressing the root cause rather than the symptoms. The finished spaces came out better than what existed before.
