Nokia Product Creation Center: San Diego, CA

The Nokia Product Creation Center in Sabre Springs was a project of genuine ambition. Perched above Interstate 15 with sweeping views and a design sensibility that blended Finnish minimalism with the warmth of the California coast, the 188,000 square foot campus set a new standard for workplace design in San Diego, earning an Orchid Award from the San Diego Architectural Foundation in 2000. Smith Holt served as owner’s representative throughout, coordinating design, construction, and move-in teams across the full scope of the $15 million build. The practice brought the same rigor and accountability to San Diego that had defined its long-standing relationship with Nokia.
