This quaint garage apartment was an addition for owners outgrowing their home who wanted to take a non-compliant structure in a historic neighborhood into compliance while adding functionality. Given the limited space, adding on to the original detached garage was the best option. This project presented multiple challenges and needed new footings and steel beams to support the second-story dwelling. The ultimate goal was to provide a versatile space for the clients that they could use for guests and a home office. This addition allowed for flexibility and growth and ensured they can raise their family in the neighborhood they love.
